Are you a Noun? Or would you rather be a verb? Perhaps you are ore inclined to be an adjective? How many of us are adverbs? Last week we reviewed parts of speech and related them to personality types. Common nouns are sometimes boring words, where as Proper Nouns are much fancier and stand out. Verbs are action words they like to always be busy doing things. Adjectives are really supportive of their noun friends, they are complimentary. And just like in in the real world there are Bullies in Parts Of speech...the Adverbs. Adverbs are bullies because they tell the Verbs HOW or How Often to do some thing. Students had fun deciding what part of speech they would like to be. So what type of word are you? Sometimes I'm a little bit of each!
Our unit on Multiplication and Division is coming to a close, but that does not mean we are done learning our facts! Students are required to continue studying their multiplication and division facts. Tests will still be given every Monday and Friday to keep our skills sharp. Meanwhile, we will continue to practice and reinforce the key vocabulary that goes along with these two concepts as we work on solving word problems and computation equations involving both multiplication and division.
Stay tuned for another post on Science, Social Studies, Writing, Spelling, Kids Blog and Homework later this week!
